Trailer for the release of The Frontier, the largest mod in Fallout history

The Frontier team claims to have created the largest mod in the history of the Fallout franchise. It does look impressive on paper, but you don’t have to take your word for it: the mod is already out, and anyone can try it.

In The Frontier, your courier from New Vegas finds himself in frosty Portland, Oregon, where the war between the NKR and the Legion is going on. The city is rich in resources and military equipment, but something truly valuable lies beneath the snow-covered ruins.

The mod offers three major storylines with dozens of hours of gameplay, as well as many side quests and unmarked quests on the map. The area of Portland is so large that it is stymied by the limitations of the GECK editor, and a car comes in handy for getting around – they put together a reliable driving system specifically for The Frontier.

Finally, the modification offers over 150 new weapons (with unique sounds and special effects), as well as a variety of weather conditions: snowfall, rain, haze and fog. The developers assure that they squeezed every last drop from the engine to create weather effects.
