As the main quest of the mod progresses, you are allowed to find new ways to fight the war against the Legion. After getting your start as a courier, you’ll be able to join one of two factions:

In a post-apocalyptic future where the two major powers, the Good Guys (the Good Roaming Masterminds) and the Bad Guys (the Toxic Death Race), have agreed to a non-aggression pact, violence has become a way of life. Mercenaries hired by either side hunted criminals down, and just like in any fantastic movie, these Bounty Hunters go about their business with style.

That’s not including all the optional files in the mod, such as weapon mod or Nuka World trailer, which have multiple versions, each including different parts and pieces. It also changes many quest lines, giving you new objectives, such as bringing down the leaders of the super mutant army instead of just killing them. The Frontier is a comprehensive weapon modification for Fallout 4. The mod adds over 150 different weapons to your game, either new Hunter and Combat weapons or tweaks to the standard weapons. There are also new outfits for your character, based on certain conditions, such as being a merchant or being an outlaw. All the guns can be repaired at a repair bench in any settlement with a Commonwealth Repairs skill of 50 or better.

A fully upgraded weapon will have an engraving that lists its modifications on it—this is how you know it’s an upgraded weapon. However, you don’t have to take my word for it. By defeating some challenging enemies in the game, you may earn unique Commonwealth Repairs skill books to know exactly what modifications your weapon has gained.

Driving System

The Frontier team put together an outstanding driving system for us and tested it out on several levels. They are the ones who gave us the ability to change our radio stations on the fly within The Pitt. These guys are some of the most professionals in the modding community, so I trust their expertise in making our drives more enjoyable.

The code they released for us is unparalleled in both functionality and aesthetics.

What kind of PC do you need to run the mod?

If you can run a mostly heavily moulded setup, then you should run Frontier fine. You’ll get better reactions from the settlers, and they may even give you some unique items that only these two have access to. If certain sections of the place are prone to crashes or freeze up, look into other options.

The setting is highly vanilla friendly and should run well on any machine with an Intel i3 or better. You need a recent enough system to run it (I recommend at least an i7 4790 or better) and a decent chunk of memory (8 GB or more recommended). Install the latest available version of your graphics drivers. While not required, it is highly recommended that you use Optimal Settings for your monitor to give you better performance.

How faction main quests will play out

Frontier works when you complete Main Quests; you unlock new locations to visit and new opportunities to undertake open-world quests. Then after completing those, you head into the Frontier to do Combat Missions. Combat missions are of varying types; some reward Strong Currency, while others require you to get specific items from Story Quests, such as interacting with certain people or objects.

All of this contributes to creating a richer narrative and adding challenges in varying levels of difficulty. It all leads to one main quest that challenges you to overcome any remaining hardships you may have and ultimately choose.
