Special Encounters in Fallout 2

In the pile of corpses you will find a doggy bad luck. Hurry and run away from this place, or if it gets attached to you, you’ll become Cursed and Luck will drop to 2 – everything will fall out of hand. The dog is tenacious. Kill it hard and long, at least it doesn’t attack itself.
Brahmins who explode when they see you. An extreme case of indigestion. The most unpleasant thing is that before they explode, they try to get closer.
Bridge of Death. You have to answer the keeper’s three questions. If you answer correctly, you can pass. If you fail to answer, he’ll kill you. When you try to attack it (400 HP) will appear exploding brahmins. If you answer the third question with a question, the keeper will burst and leave him with Bridgekeeper’s robe. If you answer the third question correctly, the keeper will simply leave and you will gain 5000 XP.
Toxic Waste Dump. You find yourself in a field filled with acid and littered with barrels. There are a dozen golden geckos grazing in the field. You immediately get a large dose of radiation.
“Cafe of Broken Dreams.” It looks like a little piece of the Hub from Fallout 1, but then you realize that something is missing and something is superfluous. Inside you’ll find some old acquaintances from the first part and … Dogmeat! Approach him wearing Vault Dweller’s clothes and Dogmeat can join you…
Gates of Eternity. A very useful place. Once you enter the portal, you will get to Vault 13 from Fallout 1. In the armory lies a pile of junk and … Solar Scorcher on the floor. To leave, break the Water Chip in the computer (1000 XP).
Vault Dweller’s Stone Head. Starts to argue with you about the fact that you are not Chosen One. After a long argument will give you a stone (Monument Chunk), which temporarily increases some characteristics when eaten. You can steal three more pebbles from the head.
Knights of King Arthur. These are probably men of the Brotherhood, only with a slight mental disorder. They are looking for Holy Hand Grenade. It makes no difference what you tell them.
King Arthur’s Knights shoot the Voliant Rat with a Plasma Rifle, but it does no harm. The Rat is killed by the Critical in the eye. In the cave you will find a Holy Hand Grenade!
However, it is not possible to find it “honestly” in the original version of the game – when calculating the probability of encountering this SE is checked by the wrong variable!
Crashed shuttle from Star-Trek. (There are a lot of fans of this cult series among Fallout creators.) You can find syringes (hypo) on the corpses that restore 90 HP health.
Iron Lumberjack. Asks you to grease him (the oil can lies nearby). Help him, and he’ll give you 200 Micro Fusion Cell (and in addition will leave you an oil can, which, unfortunately, nowhere else is useful).
A gimmick based on Douglas Adams’ novel, “Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”) A sperm whale and a pot of petunias fell out of the sky. Take the flowers just as a memento of the place 🙂
Unwashed Vilagers deal with a spammer. A gimmick dedicated to Fallout’s most famous and reputable clan of fans (www.unwashed.com). If you help them, you get positive karma. After killing the spammer, search the shelves in the ruins of the house.
